Ritlabs is back on form with the latest release of The Bat! Professional. Its security credentials are unimpeachable, with support for hardware authentication tokens, on-the-fly message base encryption and biometric authentication available with the optional BatPost Server. Support for Exchange Server using native MAPI comes as standard, as does Bayesian spam filtering and the Smart Sorting Office, which lifts mail filtering to a level of near perfection. The Import tool is comprehensive and there's even a backup and restore function. But the killer app, included in the Professional licence, is Bat! Voyager. This puts The Bat! onto your USB flash drive for total portability. No information is left on the host PC you plug it into, your message base and contacts remain encrypted on-the-fly, and you even get spam filtering. For the ultimate in privacy and security, you can't beat it.
